Archive for the Fall & Winter Scents Category
This scent is one of my new favorites. It smells just like doughnuts covered in cinnamon and powdered sugar. So yummy, excellent scent throw in wax and great for blending.
I searched for years for a Fresh Brewed Coffee fragrance that smelled true and not funky (you know what I mean) and I finally found what I think is a really nice one. This one is just pure, fresh coffee and is especially nice in wax & home scents. Fantastic for blending.
This scent is a delicious blend of homemade graham cookies, juicy raisins, cinnamon sticks and creamy vanilla frosting. *NOT skin safe; wax and home scents only.
Sweet, toasty bread, soaked in milk, vanilla and egg, and sprinkled with cinnamon then fried to perfection.
A FYN House Blend – An earthy and sophisticated blend of aromatic sandalwood and exotic frankincense.
A warm and cozy blend of orange, grapefruit, lemon, apple, cinnamon, ginger, carrot, nutmeg, buttercream and vanilla. Use caution in skin products. Not recommended in triple-scented body products. Also called Holiday Spice.
A dark & earthy blend of cinnamon, patchouli, sandalwood and a touch of vanilla musk to round it out. Sensual and exotic.
Super spicy with candy sweetness, this is a nice & strong cinnamon with excellent throw. Candles and wax only, no bath & body.
NEW VERSION AS OF FALL 2016! This has been a favorite for years with those who like a spicy holiday scent. A classic and much beloved Christmas fragrance, this is a bit of a misnomer, because it doesn’t smell like a fruity, berry scent at all. Think more cinnamon with evergreen notes. You’ll want to try this in wax and room sprays for sure.
A FYN House Blend – These scents were meant to be together. Both are sophisticated, a little earthy, sweet and bold. If you want a vanilla that isn’t a bakery scent, give this one a try.
A FYN House Blend – A warm and cozy blend of spicy pumpkin cake and fresh brewed coffee. Excellent hot throw in wax.
The perfect scent of a sunny, autumn day with notes of fresh air, leaves, oak, amber and a touch of citrus. Very fresh and inviting!
A FYN House Blend – Take relaxation to the next level with this blend of soothing lavender, herbal eucalyptus and smooth spearmint. Very clean and calming.
A FYN House Blend – I love this warm and cozy blend of fresh-brewed coffee and lightly spicy zucchini bread. The hot throw in wax is amazing.
Sweet pumpkin pancakes drizzled with maple syrup and topped with candied pecans and brown sugar. Rich, cozy and delicious.
Similar to Pumpkin Pecan Waffles (type) fragrance from B&BW
A FYN House Blend – This takes my somewhat earthy pumpkin souffle (think more spice than sweet) and makes it more earthy and exotic with the addition of frankincense. Very unique. *Home & wax products only, no bath and body.
This is an amazing fragrance that I keep coming back to again & again. A blend of crisp apples, cider, sweet cinnamon and gooey caramel, this is outstanding in wax and is also safe for bath & body.
LOVE! Wow, this is an amazing fragrance. It’s a fruity, spicy bakery delight that quickly fills a room. Plump blueberries mixed with a rich and savory-sweet bakery pumpkin. As soon as I had it in my warmer, I knew I had to have it. Due to the spice content, it’s really meant mostly for home (non-skin) scenting, but it’s skin safe in small quantities, so if you really want to try it in a lotion or soap, use the “SPECIAL REQUEST” option from my scent list. Just don’t choose a triple-scented or perfume product, or it will likely irritate your skin.
A very cozy blend of winter air, sweet amber, mandarin leaf, white cedar, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, sandalwood, and vanilla. Sweet and woodsy. No bath & body.
A FYN House Blend – One of my personal favorite scents, Zucchini Bread, blended with creamy, sweet Buttercream Frosting. This is another scent that’s fantastic for blending, especially with your favorite fruity fragrances.
A FYN House Blend – I played and played with this blend until I got it just right. This is all my favorite things blended with fresh-brewed coffee, including caramel, dark & milk chocolate, coconut and whipped marshmallow cream.
A FYN House Blend – The lightly spicy warmth of Zucchini Bread paired with the zesty freshness of lemonade.
A FYN House Blend – Fresh, crisp apple blended with juicy blueberry and a bit of spice, all with a delicious bakery background. Gorgeous in wax.
A FYN House Blend – Patchouli lovers will love this one. It’s a gorgeous, earthy-fresh blend of my patchouli and fresh apple fragrances. Great for wearing, and strong in home scenting.
Here’s a new take on mint: A sophisticated blend of fresh essential oil of peppermint and huckleberries, hints of violet and white florals, with creamy base notes of vanilla marshmallow. Due to the peppermint essential oil, this will make your skin tingle when used in bath products. Excellent scent throw in wax.
Customer rave: ” Also my peppermint fluff is my newest favorite scent. It’s so fresh and delicious but it has something in it making it a little more fresh instead of straight peppermint. YUMMM Thank you thank you!!!!”
Not too sweet, Snow Taffy is a rich & creamy French vanilla enhanced by nuances of caramelized sugar, warm butter, cocoa vanilla, and a touch of strawberry and lemon for subtle roundness. Where this scent really shines is in lotions and perfumes, especially when paired with your favorite scent, layered to change it up and add a subtle note of sweetness.
I’m not always the biggest fan of pine scents; too many of them remind me of institutional cleaning products. This one, however, is a sophisticated blend of pine, gently mulled fruits, green holly, warm cinnamon leaf, fir needle and cypress with a rounded base of musky dry down.
A must-have for the holiday season, Home For The Holidays features top notes of bay leaves, orange, and lemon; followed by middle notes of spruce, pine, and clove; and well rounded with base notes of eucalyptus, pine, and amber.
Snowman Balls fragrance is a sexy, spicy blend of peppercorns, nutmeg, and fresh clove; embodied with notes of elderberries, blackberries, plums, and fresh green oakmoss; with magical, effervescent top notes of carbonated fizzy pop and just a hint of cool mint.
A festive combination of apples, oak, balsam, fir, and pine, with a background of cinnamon and clove.
This ForYourNose original blend is here! I’ve smelled other ZCB blends, and I know I’m biased but really think mine is the best. This is the perfect blend of my amazing Zucchini Bread fragrance with a delicious sweet cranberry. This is gorgeous as a home fragrance as well as a body scent. Friends and testers have raved about this one. I love to wear it.
Sweet, delicious pumpkin blended with exotic chai spices. For home scenting only, due to spice content.
Cozy and complex, Bonfire Bliss has notes of dried, wind-blown leaves, heliotrope, charred woods of pine and cedar, amber, smoky sandalwood, and musk with a background containing hints of roasted marshmallows, brown sugar, coconut and soft vanilla. Perfect for fall or year round.
The quintessential autumn fragrance, Rustic Lodge is a gorgeous blend of fresh apples and woody cedar, with subtle notes of honey, cinnamon bark, nuts, creamy caramel, maple sugar, and warm French vanilla. I love this scent. HOME SCENT ONLY; NO BATH & BODY.
Every bakery lover who has smelled this has the same reaction – this smells amazing. Candy-glazed sweet potato, marshmallow cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange zests, and a splash of lemon, in a warm buttery crust.
Good news! I’ve found a skin-safe version of this that’s just as delicious as the one I’m using in home scents. The one I’m using for bath & body products smells more like real sweet potato, with brown sugar, maple syrup and a touch of nutmeg & other spices.
Warm cinnamon and rich clove bud create nostalgic appeal at the heart of the scent, as sweet undertones of creamed vanilla and brown sugar complete the sensation. Sometimes this smells like an apple danish to my nose. This is delicious, and everyone who has smelled it has fallen in love with it. Please note: Fragrances containing cinnamon may irritate sensitive skin, so be careful, especially when triple scenting.
Customer rave: “Ok so Amish Kitchen is WOWZA!!!! I AM IN LOVE!!!!”
This cinnamon really has kick! It’s skin-safe but people with sensitive skin might want to avoid using cinnamon scents with leave-on products like lotions & body butters. From my perfumer: “Remember the big red candy that was so hot, you had to switch it from cheek to cheek to avoid the burn?”
Fresh, clean and perfect for fall! This is a lovely blend of crisp McIntosh and Granny Smith apples, with woody oak leaves and oakmoss. If lavender isn’t your thing (so you’re not into my popular Lavender, Apples & Oak fragrance), you should give this a try.
This faithful interpretation of the popular Claire Burke fragrance is so refreshing yet warm and cozy at the same time; the crisp, tart goodness of apples is first and foremost. Added is the zingy tang of orange peel, and topped off with just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove to enhance but not overwhelm the fragrance.
Fall in love with another fragrance that’s perfect for fall! This is more apple than pumpkin, but the pumpkin adds a nice sweetness and really rounds it out & keeps it from being as spicy as a lot of apple butter scents. From our perfumer: “top notes of orange, apple, pear, pineapple, and cherries; middle notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove; with base notes of warm vanilla.” Deeelish!
It’s back, and better than ever! This is a gorgeous rendition of the classic candy cane scent, with brisk peppermint and a kiss of vanilla sugar. Try it in salt scrubs for a refreshing exfoliator for your feet!
NEW VERSION (May 27, 2014) – My previous Buttered Rum supplier went out of business, so I went on a search for a new version. This is AMAZING – even better than my old Buttered Rum. This sweet blend takes rum and orange zest, adds a slightly spicy & nutty note, then tops it off with caramelized brown sugar and buttery cocoa and vanilla base notes.
Back by popular demand! China Rain is a gorgeous, delicate floral. I’ve been told this smells like being outside in the winter after a snow, when the air smells extra fresh & clean.
Two great scents that smell great together! My perfumer says this is more cinnamon than sandalwood, and they call it a “mellow” scent. I couldn’t agree more.
We had a request for a straight cinnamon fragrance, and Cinnamon Stick an excellent one! This is definitely cinnamon, straight up! If you like this and want to try something with a sweeter touch, try our Cinnamon Bun. Please note that cinnamon fragrances will irritate sensitive skin, and this is obviously no exception. If in doubt, maybe try this in a small sample, or in a non-skin product such as a Linen & Room Spray or a Scent Sack. Not recommended as a roll-on perfume or alcohol-free perfume.
Here’s a special cinnamon cake scent with some nice depth. Top notes of cinnamon and clove; followed by middle notes of fresh danish, lily of the valley, and jasmine; with base notes of vanilla, nuts, and yeast.
This is my favorite cranberry scent. Neither too tart nor too sweet, this is a complex blend of crushed juicy cranberries mixed with grapes, lemon, pink grapefruit, strawberries, and pomegranate with nuances of apple blossoms and heliotrope.
This is an absolutely mouthwatering butter cookie scent that performs exceptionally well in wax melts. Buttermilk, creamy vanilla and caramelized sugar. This is more buttery than my sugar cookie scents, and there are no spices in this one.
A crisp blend of sweet orange, juicy green apple and cinnamon balanced with vanilla musk and rich amber.
This sweet, sensual blend is an exotic combination of Moroccan Rose, Egyptian Sandalwood, Madagascar Vanilla, East Indian Patchouli, A bouquet of Cedar, and underlined by Italian Orange, Spanish Cistus & a sweet musky background. This is more of a sweet frank & myrrh blend rather than a smoky, traditional frank & myrrh blend. If you like this, you’ll probably like our Amber fragrance.
This is a straight frankincense fragrance – dark, earthy, exotic and somewhat woody with hints of lilac.
It took a while to find a vanilla oak scent that made my picky nose happy, but I think you’ll agree it was worth the wait. This is such a beautiful synergy of gentle, non-bakery vanilla and clean oak! Not too sweet, not too woody, just a very sophisticated and clean blend of the two. This works just as well in bath products and perfumes as it does as a home fragrance.
You won’t believe how delicious and true this smells! This smells just like you’ve sliced into a fresh, juicy apple, and it’s the best fresh apple I’ve ever smelled. This was adored by my testers, and makes exceptionally good wax melts to fragrance your home.
This is so much more rich and complex than a regular gingerbread scent, and I just love it. It has top notes of orange, lemon and bergamot, balanced with middle notes of ginger, nutmeg, honey and clove, and rounded out with base notes of vanilla bean and cocoa. Please note: This is a fantastic fragrance for scenting your home, but the spice level in this scent may cause skin irritation so it should NOT be used in triple-scented products or perfumes.
Instant Karma isn’t just the name of this kicky Patchouli blend — it’s also a rockin’ John Lennon tune. It doesn’t get much better than that. 😉 From our perfumer: “Clear and focus the mind, reawaken the senses with this fragrance based upon the Lush® Karma perfume. A meditative blend of patchouli, sweet orange, lavendin, pine and lemongrass, with notes of incense, amber and musk to ground it. You’ll love the tenacious and hypnotic effect of this sensual fragrance and real essential oil blend.”
August 2016 update: New version, now available in wax products! I will be using my original version for bath & body products while my supply lasts.
This may seem like a seasonal fragrance and it will definitely be extra nice around the holidays, but I can’t stop smelling it and I know I’m going to be wearing it all year long. The smooth nutty notes are subtle, but they still take center stage, which I really like. This complex fragrance starts with top notes of butter, almond, mandarin orange, lemon, herbaceous lime, and pineapple with nutty notes, maple, clove, cinnamon, spicy berry notes, sage, lavender, jasmine, and ozonic notes, with a dry down of creamy vanilla, coconut, amber woods, cedarleaf, cedarwood, sandalwood, and exotic musks. That said, words simply don’t do this remarkable scent justice; you’ve GOT to smell it for yourself.
A very earthy and powerful scent, our Oakmoss is a blend of cedarwood and patchouli with a background of moss and touches of jasmine and rose.
I’ve been searching for a good Orange Spice scent for quite a while, and when I discovered the perfumer who made my Orange Clove had vanished into thin air (web site gone…POOF!), I knew I’d better start looking in earnest. This is nicely balanced with more than just clove — you’ll also smell cinnamon and some other sweet spices mingling with the juicy orange.
Have I mentioned I’m a big fan of amber scents? Only about a million times, right? Here’s a magnificent blend for my fellow amber fans, this time with a woody twist. This is truly a unisex scent, with rich woods and musk notes as well as complex herbs and sweet amber. It’s also infused with essential oils of natural sage, lavandin and orange.
NEW version as of January 2015 – Fresh orange slices with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove.
My perfumer calls this fragrance “Hippie Christmas” but my minions weren’t too keen on that name so I settled on Patchouli Peppermint, despite the fact that I had already found this swell graphic of Santa rockin’ out. 🙂
Patchouli fans will dig this groovy blend of patchouli, sandalwood and peppermint, rounded out with hints of berries and vanilla.
Peanut Butter Cookie is back and better than ever! I tested a lot of samples and finally found one that’s just right. This is mouthwateringly realistic.
Move over delicious, this is absolutely mouthwatering! I tested lots & lots of pecan pie scents and I finally found the one I can’t live without. This is a perfect blend of rich butter, nutty toasted pecans and sweet whipped cream.
The perfect blend of peppermint and chocolate, just like the candy. No musty, icky chocolate, either – just delicious!
A ForYourNose original scent blend – My own blend of creamy, sweet pumpkin and buttery cornbread. Divine!
I wanted a sweet pumpkin scent to replace my old Pumpkin Muffin fragrance, and finding a good one was more difficult than I expected. Most of the scents I tested were more spice than pumpkin, or they smelled nutty and buttery but not like a truly good sweet pumpkin. Then I smelled this one, and knew I had a winner. This is a lovely blend of sweet pumpkin and creamy vanilla, with just a hint of spice.
I searched long and hard for a really good pumpkin scent, and I finally found the one that’s FORYOURNOSE-worthy. All the other ones I tried were too heavy on the spices, overpowering the aroma of baked pumpkin. This is a creamy pumpkin pie wonderfully balanced with just the right amount of spices. From our perfumer: “A sweet, rich pumpkin soufflé with a delicious buttery nuance tempered by the perfect spice blend. The earthy sweetness of the pumpkin comes through with a well-balanced blend of clove, nutmeg, allspice and ginger, and just the right amount of cinnamon.”
If you want a sweeter pumpkin scent, try my Pumpkin Vanilla Cream (see below).
So many of the pumpkin pie scents I’ve tested are too heavy on the spices & the sweet pumpkin gets lost. This one is well-balanced and delicious! This is a mouthwatering blend of sweet pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, yellow cake, butter, pecans and spices. So yummy! HOME FRAGRANCE ONLY; NO BATH & BODY
A ForYourNose original scent blend – My own blend of spicy pumpkin and decadent sweet pound cake. This scent is currently only available in home scents due to the spice content.
I tested several sugar cookie fragrances before I found this mouthwatering blend of vanilla, sugar and cookies. Definitely a winner.
Wow, this is nice. I’m not always the biggest fan of evergreen scents, but this one was an immediate YES for me. I doubt I would have ever thought to blend woods and sugar, so I give big kudos to my perfumer for this delightful scent that combines fresh greenery with sweetness. This is a whimsical mix of Blue Spruce, earthy moss, robust cedar and balsam, balanced by vanilla, caramel butter, and hints of berries, spice and sugar crystals.
I know this sounds like a seasonal scent, but I’ll be wearing it all year, especially in cooler weather. This is another scent that I just adore. It’s autumn in a bottle. From our perfumer: “…begins with top notes of pumpkin, persimmon, and apple; followed by middle notes of blueberries, elderberries, currants, orange and cinnamon; and well rounded with base notes of sugar cane and vanilla.”
Bold, musky-earthy, and very sensual. From our perfumer: “Inspired by energizing smells of nature in Tuscan, Italy, this distinctive fragrance is exotic and outdoorsy. It’s a scent that is clean and natural, just like a pile of freshly chopped Cypress soaked by an early morning summer rain. The smell of mixed evergreens is warmed by a sprinkle of spice to make a rustic fragrance that will appeal to both men and women.”
This fragrance is very similar to the popular Bath & Body Works scent, but my duplication is a bit more earthy and has more emphasis on the amber notes (which I love). No offense to B&BW, but I like mine just a touch better. 🙂 This is an earthy blend that includes citrus and eucalyptus top notes, moss, patchouli and sandalwood middle notes, and woody, amber and musk bottom notes. This scent has tremendous sex appeal.
A rich and creamy vanilla with a distinctive caramel brulee. After sampling many, many versions of this scent, I’ve finally found the best one. My testers have confirmed that this is a faithful duplication of the much-loved Vanilla Bean Noel fragrance from Bath & Body Works. According to my perfumer, this is the original Vanilla Bean Noel body lotion scent. It’s a rich, smooth and unique interpretation of vanilla.
UPDATE July 7, 2016: I’ve also found the perfect version of this for wax products! The scent throw is strong and lasts a really long time. Consider including this in your Create-A-Blend choices.
Mmmmmm… sweet, gooey marshmallow with just a touch of toasty goodness. This is a luscious vanilla scent that blooms when you wear it and is positively decadent in wax melts.
NEW VERSION – I thought I had the perfect Zucchini Bread until I smelled this one. It’s amazing. This is richer and smoother and smells even more like spicy zucchini bread that’s fresh from the oven.
This well-balanced blend is great for the holidays and it’s so unique I think you’ll want to continue to enjoy it all winter long. Winter Wonderland consists of top notes of apples and pears; followed by middle notes of eucalyptus, pine, and geranium; and balanced with base notes of vanilla, cedarwood, and patchouli. Very pleasing and homey, without being too heavy on fruity, spicy or pine notes like some other winter blends.
