Because I’m adding so many new wax products to my site, I’m getting some excellent questions from fellow wax fanatics. Here are some of the things you’ve asked most often. If your question isn’t answered here, please feel free to contact me.
What type of wax do you use?
I use a special blend of paraffin and soy waxes. My testing shows it has the best scent throw and it allows me to use a higher level of fragrance than many other types of waxes. My melts are a harder parasoy blend, and my sliceable loaves are a softer parasoy blend.
What type of packaging do you use?
My wax is packaged in fragrance-friendly polypropylene.
Do you use glitter?
I love glitter, so I tend to use it fairly often in my wax products. I think it adds a lot of visual appeal. Not everyone likes it, though. Some of my products give you the option to have your wax made with glitter or with shimmering micas.
Do you ship in padded flat rate envelopes (PFRE)?
It depends on what you’re ordering. If I think your wax needs the extra protection of a box so it won’t get damaged, I’ll usually ship in a box. Smaller orders & items that I feel fairly certain can arrive intact I may ship in a padded flat rate envelope. If you want your order shipped in a PFRE to lower your shipping costs, please let me know when you place your order. If your order will fit in a PFRE and this reduces your shipping costs, I will process a partial shipping refund.
Do you label your wax with a pour date?
New wax made in December 2016 and beyond will usually have a pour date on the label.
Does your wax need to cure, and how long?
I have mixed feelings about this, as do my customers. Some feel the scent in my wax is stronger the longer it cures, several weeks or even months. Some feel it’s just fine by the time they receive it (which for custom orders is usually at least a week and a half by the time I make it, ship it, and you receive it). I do know I’ve had some wax that I made for testing purposes that still had fantastic, strong scent throw a year or more after I poured it. However, this will vary by scent; some will naturally have a longer shelf life than others.
Are your scent descriptions listed on your site?
Yes, descriptions for most of my regular scents are available on my site, listed by category here. You can also use the menu near the top of every page to look for scents by category. Occasionally I’ll add special or seasonal scents without a full description. If you can’t find the description for something, please feel free to message me.
I like to order seasonal scents early so they have extra time to cure. Can I do that on your site?
Absolutely. I have a lot of seasonal scents in my regular scent list that I carry year round. You can order them in any made-to-order (custom) product whenever you like. Want Christmas Splendor in July? I’ve got you covered. 🙂
Do you close your site to restock inventory?
Nope. My web site is open for orders 365 days a year.
How long will it take to receive my order?
This will vary greatly depending on the volume of orders I’m processing at any given time. If you order a custom wax item, you can typically expect it to take a week or so for me to make and ship it. I’ll always ship sooner if possible, of course. If I get inundated with orders or when I’m running a sale, it may take a bit longer. However, I’ve never yet had a turnaround time for wax that took months. If I ever get that busy, I’ll change the estimated shipping time that’s indicated near the top of every page on my web site.
