Why is my lotion (or other product) turning brown?

Fragrances that contain vanilla will cause many products to darken and turn brown over time. While I can (and sometimes do) use a vanilla stabilizer to prevent or slow down this process, I usually choose not to because most of my customers prefer fewer added chemicals in their products. Once in a while I’ll add the stabilizer for aesthetic reasons, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with products that darken over time due to their vanilla content.
